BROOKLYN, NY \u2014 A gunman walked into a Flatlands laundromat Monday morning and opened fire, killing a 41-year-old man as customers scrambled for cover inside the crowded business, police and witnesses said.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened around 8 a.m. inside the laundromat at Utica Avenue.<\/p>\n
Police said the 41-year-old victim was washing clothing when the gunman entered and fired multiple shots. Medics rushed the man to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
A 68-year-old man also suffered a graze wound to the foot. <\/p>\n
Witnesses said the burst of gunfire sent customers diving to the ground and running for safety.<\/p>\n
At the time of the shooting, about 15 people were inside the business during the holiday weekend morning rush, including an employee standing behind the register just feet from the gunman.<\/p>\n
Police said the gunman fled after the shooting.
