Clark says a resident of the Mitchel Houses in Mott Haven has been indicted, for allegedly throwing his family&#8217;s cat out of their 15th-floor apartment window.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Miguel Perez, 32, allegedly tossed Shadow, a small black cat, from the window at around 10:20 a.m. on March 4 after Shadow scratched his hand. The cat hit the pavement below and died, prosecutors say.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Perez is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and torturing and injuring animals. He first faced a judge Thursday and was indicted Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;We are supposed to love and care for our companion animals. Allegedly, in a fit of rage, this defendant tossed the family&#8217;s cat out of his apartment window, causing the animal&#8217;s death,&#8221; said Clark. &#8220;The abuse of animals will not be tolerated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Perez is due back in court July 21.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Bronx District Attorney Darcel D.
