<\/p>\nJust in case Brooklyn Beckham \u2014 or anyone else \u2014 missed the memo, Victoria Beckham is doubling down on her denial that she is \u201cforcing\u201d her kids to do anything they don\u2019t want to do.<\/p>\n
Victoria, who shares kids Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, with husband David Beckham, recently slammed her eldest son\u2019s claims that she is \u201ccontrolling\u201d in a new interview. (And this is the second time this month she has addressed this.)<\/p>\n

In a May 27 interview with The Times<\/a>, the fashion designer revealed that she is nothing but supportive of her kids. \u201cThere\u2019s a big difference between supporting children with what they want to do and forcing them,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cAll we\u2019ve ever done with any of the children is support them, help them and encourage them.\u201d<\/p>\n She praised her kids \u201cpassion and their sense of purpose,\u201d and went on to say that her and David want them to do whatever they want in life. \u201cThe three boys used to play football and one by one they decided it wasn\u2019t for them and that\u2019s okay, whatever makes them happy,\u201d she said. Victoria added, \u201cI just want them to feel fulfilled.\u201d<\/p>\n This is similar to what she said in a May 5 episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede<\/a> podcast. \u201cI think that it\u2019s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children,\u201d Victoria said at the time. \u201cI\u2019m just trying to do the best that I can.\u201d<\/p>\n RELATED: David & Victoria Beckham Sent a Message to Son Brooklyn Amid Their\u00a0Feud<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t put any pressure on our kids, we just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy,\u201d Victoria went on, adding, \u201cBeing very close is really, really important to us.\u201d Elsewhere, she said, \u201cIt\u2019s never about being pushy or forcing. It\u2019s being there to support.\u201d<\/p>\n This message, and the one she said in today\u2019s interview, both contradict Brooklyn\u2019s claims about how his parents treat him. Brooklyn has had a rift with his parents<\/a> for years, going on the record on a January 19 Instagram story that his parents \u201ccontrolled narratives\u201d about him for his \u201centire life.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to say, \u201cThe performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.\u201d Later, he added, \u201cI have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.
