New York Knicks<\/a> center Mitchell Robinson<\/a> suffered a devastating broken right pinky finger injury.<\/p>\n

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Robinson has no timetable to return.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear how the 28-year-old suffered the injury. He suffered the injury earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

Robinson’s status for the NBA Finals, which start in less than a week on June 3, is uncertain. If he were to miss time, it would be a heartbreaking blow for the Knicks, as he has become a vital piece for their success.<\/p>\n

In 13 playoff games, Robinson is averaging 5.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.6 blocks while shooting 73.7 percent from the field. The Florida native is averaging 2.5 offensive rebounds per game.<\/p>\n

Robinson excels as an offensive rebounder, something that has become his calling card. His combination of elite official tools, unmatched positioning and high motor makes him a force to be reckoned with for opposing defenses.<\/p>\n

If Robinson misses a good chunk of time in the Finals, that could be the difference between hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy and not.<\/p>\n
