(WIBW) &#8211; Riley County police were investigating the break-in of restrooms at Blue Earth Plaza this week in Manhattan, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A report for criminal damage to property was filed around 8:16 a.m. Thursday at the downtown plaza, located in the 400 block of 3rd Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The City of Manhattan was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown person broke into the Blue Earth Plaza restrooms, damaging the deadbolt and lock.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Riley County Police Department says crime rates dropped in 2025.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/HOG4LKQVNVCVDNJJCY2FI2SWLQ.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" \/>Riley County Police Department says crime rates dropped in 2025.(Carson Shea\/WIBW)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The total estimated loss associated with this case is $3,200. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the Visit Manhattan website, Blue Earth Plaza is a \u201cbeautiful green space in downtown Manhattan &#8230; that provides fireplace, fountains, lights and music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It is located adjacent to Flint Hills Discovery Center, Blue Earth Place, Hilton Garden Inn and Candlewood Suites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Anyone with information on this incident may call Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers at 785-539-7777.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WIBW.
