Over 31 years after her tragic murder at the hands of Yolanda Saldívar, Selena Quintanilla continues to live on within the hearts and minds of dedicated fans well beyond the Alamo City.

However, San Antonio is getting a special Selena-themed treat next month. In July, the beloved singer-songwriter’s legacy will be honored in an exhibit at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, located along the San Antonio River Walk.

According to a Friday news release, the exhibit is called Siempre Selena, which translates to “Selena Forever” from Spanish. It’s part of an expansive bilingual showcase called “Tejano Legacy: Another American Origin Story,” intended to explore nearly 400 years of Tejano history and culture as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary.

While the full exhibit won’t open until July 24, Selena fans won’t have to wait long to visit the museum exhibit. The Siempre Selena portion of the showcase will open June 4 in the museum’s Kate Marmion Gallery.

The exhibit will feature “monumental photographs” taken by San Antonio photographer John Dyer, in addition to “never-before-seen boutique photographs, magazine covers and ephemera,” the release reads.

The showcase aims to capture Selena “at a pivotal moment in her rise to international stardom” while providing an “intimate look at the artist whose talent, charisma and determination transformed Tejano music and helped redefine representation for Mexican American women in popular culture.”

The exhibition will be on display through January 2027, according to the release.

Over 31 years after her tragic murder at the hands of Yolanda Saldívar, Selena Quintanilla continues to live on…

[37
9,24,63,122,124,123
post-248259","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news
["GET
