\u201cI thought there\u2019s always a degree of apprehension when you come into a play-off game because it\u2019s a one-off match. But I felt the players had the right amount of desire, hunger, and willingness to put into practice the things we\u2019ve been doing much better in recent games.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that was really the difference tonight. There were some good goals in there, but our work rate out of possession was excellent as well. We stressed to the players over the last couple of weeks that we would need that intensity and that we had to put a team like Queen\u2019s Park, who like to play football, under real pressure when they had the ball.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s an indication of what this squad can achieve. If they were allowed to stay together for a couple of seasons, without a doubt the squad would continue to grow and you\u2019d see more performances like this.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got to give Queen\u2019s Park credit as well. They\u2019ve had a really hard run and put in a massive shift here tonight.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think we finally showed what this squad is capable of. As I\u2019ve said before, it\u2019s really important that young players are given the right amount of time to develop. If you\u2019ve watched this squad all season, you can see where mistakes have been made and where they need to improve.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cBut you can also see that they\u2019ve grown into more experienced players, and that\u2019s a big part of football.<\/p>\n
