William Farrington for NY Post<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/29\/opinion\/how-many-must-die-before-nyc-gets-real-on-policing-e-bikes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EMS rushed <\/a>Delvalle, of Paramus, and Stechenko, of Queens, to Weill Cornell Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Queens in Flushing, where they later died, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stechenko, originally from Ukraine, was a software engineer at Meta, according to his social media.<\/p>\n<p>Delvalle was wearing a DOT approved, full-face helmet, police sources said. Stechenko was also wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n<p>The speed limit on the path is 15 miles per hour. It wasn\u2019t clear how fast the riders were going, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The standing electric scooter rider was trying to pass another bike when he struck a bicyclist coming the other way, cops said. William Farrington for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>One of Devalle\u2019s friends, Rachel Huynh, told ABC 7 that he leaves behind a wife and two kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis wife is in bad shape, especially with the kids,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t imagine.
