(LEONIA, NJ) — The Players Guild of Leonia<\/a> presents The Marshall Playwrights Showcase from June 12-14, 2026. Named in honor of their long-time PGL member, Helene Marhsall, the showcase includes five original one-acts making for an unforgettable night! Works are by Keith Whalen, Conor Casey, Michael Gage Costa, and Chris Widney.<\/p>\n

Performances take place Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 at 8:00pm and Sunday, June 14 at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase<\/a> online. The theater is located at 130 Grand Avenue in Leonia, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Clich\u00e9 – written by Keith Whalen;\u00a0directed by Frank Farrell.\u00a0A stressed man in danger of losing his job sits down on a park bench and pours his heart out to a stranger, only to become exasperated with her unusual way of speaking. The cast includes\u00a0Justin Krauss (He),\u00a0Ann Grippo (She), and\u00a0Deb Nolting (Cop).<\/p>\n

The Three Husbands of Sarah Tilbury\u00a0– written by Conor Casey;\u00a0directed by Dori Persson.\u00a0A dark comedy set in 1880s Victorian London. A restless father attempts to marry off his eldest daughter, whose suspicious past begins to unravel. The eccentricities of the Tilbury family reveal a history filled with macabre humor, emotional depth, and the absurdity of life\u2019s tragedies. The cast includes\u00a0Rob Laub (Archibald),\u00a0Hannah Portmann (Lilly),\u00a0Corrine Hower-Greene (Sarah), and\u00a0Arthur Carlson (Captain Covington).<\/p>\n

Hello, My Name Is Death\u00a0– written by Michael Gage Costa;\u00a0directed by Marissa Dolkart.\u00a0A lighthearted, darkly comedic exploration of life, uncertainty, regret, hope, and fear of the unknown.\u00a0The cast includes Gilda Bettini (Death) and\u00a0Melissa Pascucci (Porter).<\/p>\n

Under the Table\u00a0– written by Keith Whalen;\u00a0directed by Terri Caust.\u00a0Parents and grandparents want the best for their families, but their methods do not always mesh. Sometimes they can even be a little devious getting their point across.\u00a0The cast includes\u00a0Corrine Hower-Greene (Becca),\u00a0Dori Persson (Cathy), and Jonathan Reiss (Mick).<\/p>\n

Jolly Wally\u00a0– written by Chris Widney;\u00a0directed by Frank Farrell.\u00a0Fed up with the day-to-day humiliation of their aquarium act, a walrus tries to convince her complacent boyfriend to escape SeaLife Aquarium in Tallahassee and start a new life.\u00a0The cast includes\u00a0Arthur Carlson (Wally),\u00a0\u00a0Laura Ward (Molly), and\u00a0Christiane Lange (Dot).<\/p>\n

Founded in 1919, the\u00a0Players Guild of Leonia<\/a>\u00a0is a non-profit, resident acting company at the Civil War Drill Hall Theater (built in 1859).\u00a0 They\u00a0are New Jersey’s oldest continuing community theater group, and five minutes from the George Washington Bridge and a short bus ride from Manhattan. The\u00a0 historic Civil War Drill Hall Theater is located at 130 Grand Avenue in Leonia, surrounded by the towns of Englewood, Fort Lee, Palisades Park and Teaneck, New Jersey. \u00a0<\/p>\n
