RENSSELAER, N.Y. (WNYT)- New York State Police (NYSP) said a long-running narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two Brooklyn men and the seizure of drugs, a handgun and cash.<\/p>\n
Related: Mayor Applyrs: Albany resident, daughter detained by ICE<\/a><\/p>\n NYSP said Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) members arrested Lorenzo L. Moore, 45, and Markeim T. Lewis, 26, on May 29 after an investigation that began in November 2024. <\/p>\n Police said investigators developed information during the case that Moore and Lewis frequently used rail travel to further criminal activity.<\/p>\n Police said CSU members found both men after they got off a train and took them into custody without incident. According to NYSP, investigators recovered about 279 grams of crack cocaine, 54 grams of fentanyl, a Taurus .40 caliber handgun and $3,450 in cash.<\/p>\n Moore was charged with Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell. <\/p>\n Lewis was charged with Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.<\/p>\n Moore and Lewis were arraigned in City of Rensselaer Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail, according to NYSP.<\/p>\n NYSP said the investigation involved Troop K CSU, the Troop G Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team, State Police in Schodack, Latham and Brunswick, the Amtrak Police Department and the City of Rensselaer Police Department.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor Related Stories:\u00a0weapons arrest<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Troop K<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Rensselaer<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0New York State Police<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0drugs arrest<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Albany-Rensselaer Train Station<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"RENSSELAER, N.Y.
