<\/p>\n\n\tAnemos is bringing California ease to the West Village on Wednesday with the opening of its first-ever New York City pop-up shop.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cLauren [Arapage, cofounder] and I go way back to our New York days \u2014 when she was in press at Stella McCartney and I was buying at Moda Operandi \u2014 so there\u2019s always been this through-line of New York energy in how we think about the brand, even though Anemos is very much rooted in the ease of L.A.,\u201d Anemos cofounder Joshua Shaub told WWD.<\/p>\n
\n\tHe noted that the brand\u2019s momentum and growth led the cofounders to come back to New York City for their first retail pop-up.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re up 140 percent year-over-year, which is something we honestly didn\u2019t let ourselves predict out loud. To see the collection resonate at this scale has been incredibly validating, both for the brand and for what we believe sustainable, minimalist fashion<\/a> can be,\u201d he said. Shaub said the shop\u2019s location was designed to be \u201cmore of a homecoming,\u201d and less like a business decision, as their New York City customer makes up 20 percent of Anemos\u2019 web sales.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tLocated at 325 West 11th Street, the 700-square-foot retail space will be open seven days a week for one month, and will possibly extend through July.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\tLauren Arapage and Joshua Shaub<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCourtesy of Anemos<\/p>\n \n\tArapage told WWD that the duo have a few activations planned for the space, include an opening cocktail party and a shopping<\/a> event with Work(ing) Hard World, to name two.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe want it to be a gathering point for people who care about the same things we do: beautiful design, intentional living, and doing it in an effortless way,\u201d she said of the space, which was designed to reflect the brand\u2019s minimalist codes and coastal ease.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe in-store experience is really an extension of the brand\u2019s ethos: clean, considered and tactile.
