STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Northwell\u2019s Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze has earned multiple national distinctions for clinical excellence from Healthgrades, a site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital.<\/p>\n
Among the hospital\u2019s 2026 accolades are a Specialty Excellence Award, placing it among the top 10% nationwide for prostate surgery. It also received five-star ratings in several key service areas, including transurethral prostate resection surgery and coronary bypass surgery, the hospital has announced. <\/p>\n

Healthgrades\u2019 2026 analysis of three-year Medicare patient data from 2022-2024 revealed significant potential for improved outcomes. The study found that if all hospitals performed similarly to five-star hospitals during this period, on average, 230,466 lives could have been saved and 156,797 complications could have been avoided, according to the hospital announcement.”<\/p>\n
