{"id":255036,"date":"2026-06-04T10:43:32","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T10:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/255036\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T10:43:32","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T10:43:32","slug":"woman-charged-with-stealing-700k-from-brooklyn-heights-co-op","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/255036\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman charged with stealing $700K from Brooklyn Heights co-op"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN \u2013 A FORMER BROOKLYN HEIGHTS resident has been arraigned on an indictment charging her with stealing more than $700,000 from the 40-unit Brooklyn Heights co-op where she served as board president, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Isabelle Gallier, 60, now of Keansburg, New Jersey, was charged with second-degree grand larceny. She was released without bail and ordered to return to court on Aug. 12. She was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2018 and 2024, Gallier allegedly used her position as board president of 130 Hicks St. to steal $708,216 in funds intended for the operation of the building. She allegedly spent $218,351 on mortgage payments and $125,754 on luxury goods, including $12,489 on furs, $4,028 on a Rolex watch and $53,022 on 150 pairs of designer shoes, including 28 pairs of Christian Louboutins and 16 pairs of Valentinos, the DA said.<\/p>\n<p>After Gallier was voted out, the building\u2019s financial records were turned over to a new board, revealing the alleged theft.
