TSX-V-listed Manhattan Uranium Discovery Corporation and fellow-listed Fortune Bay Corporation have selected priority drill targets for an upcoming drill programme at the Murmac and Strike uranium projects, in northern Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
The planned 5 000 m drill programme will test up to 25 priority targets across both projects starting in June.<\/p>\n
The targets include both follow-up opportunities near prior uranium results discovered and first-pass tests of newly defined targets along more than 60 km of prospective electromagnetic conductor packages on the northern margin of the Athabasca Basin.<\/p>\n
The drilling is being funded by Manhattan as it works to earn a 70% interest in the “Uranium City” projects by spending C$6-million on exploration. Fortune Bay is currently the operator of the projects.<\/p>\n
Manhattan chairperson William Sheriff says the global energy landscape is undergoing a fundamental shift, with uranium being at the centre of it. “The Athabasca Basin remains one of the world’s premier uranium regions, and having built and sold one of the largest domestic uranium resource bases in US history. I know firsthand how exploration success in the right geological setting can create significant value.”<\/p>\n
Manhattan CEO Galen McNamara adds that the Murmac and Strike drill programme represents a significant catalyst for the company.<\/p>\n
“The Athabasca Basin has a well-established track record of delivering world-class uranium discoveries, and we believe our projects share the key geological characteristics that have defined the Basin’s most significant finds.
