The report cites a “lifelong dream” to go live from Studio 8H and notes that creator Lorne Michaels previously declined. Sources describe a whisper campaign by acquaintances, while a Mamdani contact says no formal ask was made and an SNL representative says nothing has come their way. Page Six also recounts a prior pitch during his campaign that was passed over for creative reasons.
