“As we work to assemble the city’s new administration, our goal is to answer the overwhelming call for increased efficiency, fiscal responsibility, accountability, and a holistic and fundamental change to the way local government operates here in Bayonne,” Ashe-Nadrowski said in a statement.

“Andrew is exactly the kind of leader to help us build a government that seeks solutions and actually works for the people of Bayonne – He knows Bayonne, and I truly look forward to welcoming him back.”

Casais was the chief of staff to Davis between July 2014 and March 2017, when he left to become the municipal clerk, assessment search officer, and municipal housing liaison in Roselle Park, as HCV first reported, getting promoted to business administrator in 2019.

“I’m very passionate about local government because it is the closest to the people, and shapes the reality of daily life,” added Casais.

“It is truly an honor to be chosen to serve in this position, and it is my intention to bring every aspect of my experiences to this role. I look forward to working alongside Mayor Nadrowski, the City Council, and City employees to build a better Bayonne.”

During his time as Roselle Park BA, he spearheaded capital improvement efforts that led to the improvement of 90 percent of the Borough’s municipal roadways and pedestrian infrastructure, along with improvements to municipal facilities and recreational spaces.

During the same period, Casais oversaw the implementation of sound budgeting practices that led to debt reduction and increased municipal surplus reserves.

Casais’ consulting firm, which he runs with his wife Raine Cuseglio, managed Ashe-Nadrowski’s mayoral campaign against Davis in 2022, which made waves at the time since he was related to Davis, now the Hudson County sheriff, through marriage.

He was not involved in Ashe-Nadrowski’s race last month, where she became the first female mayor-elect in Peninsula City history and swept the City Council races, both as HCV first reported.

Bayonne Mayor-elect Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski has tapped Andrew Casais, a former chief of staff for Mayor Jimmy Davis, as…

[39
34079,99428,30420,9,24,63,34081,134,136,135
post-255268","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-staten-island","tag-2026-bayonne-mayoral-race","tag-andrew-casais","tag-jimmy-davis","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-sharon-ashe-nadrowski","tag-staten-island","tag-staten-island-headlines","tag-staten-island-news
["GET
