{"id":255452,"date":"2026-06-04T17:42:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T17:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/255452\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T17:42:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T17:42:10","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-drought-conditions-expand-across-tri-state-as-water-levels-drop-and-rain-stays-scarce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/255452\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Drought Conditions Expand Across Tri State As Water Levels Drop And Rain Stays Scarce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Dry conditions are spreading across the tri-state region, raising concerns about water levels and plant health.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The latest drought monitor shows much of the region is now under some level of drought.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Central and southern New Jersey are seeing severe drought conditions, while parts of the Catskills and northern Connecticut are considered abnormally dry.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Across much of the region, moderate drought conditions are developing.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">These conditions are already starting to impact crops and plants.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Officials say rivers, streams and reservoirs are running at lower levels than normal.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Residents are being urged to conserve water as the situation could worsen.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Temperatures are expected to remain near normal in the coming days, though a warming trend is expected, especially near the Catskills.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">At the same time, little rainfall is expected between June 9 and June 13.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Forecasters say the continued lack of rain could lead to even drier conditions across the entire region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dry conditions are spreading across the tri-state region, raising concerns about water levels and plant health.
