Shady dog dealers are illegally selling puppies out of the trunk of a Mercedes SUV for thousands of dollars<\/a>, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n At least two men were caught on video<\/a> Oct. 23 and posted on TikTok brazenly hawking close to a dozen miniature and toy poodles in broad daylight in the Diamond District \u2014 despite the state banning dog sales<\/a> and the city outlawing backyard breeding last year.<\/p>\n This video taken October 23 shows two men hawking newborn puppies of the trunk of a car in Midtown Manhattan. TikTok\/@isacsavage<\/p>\n \u201cYou can probably get $3,500 to $4,500 for the dog,\u201d barks one of the men to about eight people gathered around the car on West 47th Street.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause they\u2019re going to be so small,\u201d said the pooch peddler, dressed in black, about the price. \u201cThey got everything \u2013 they got shots,\u201d he said of the tiny 9-week-old pups packed in the back of the SUV, which had sawdust spread around the trunk.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re almost \u2013 they\u2019re basically going to be teacups,\u201d he bragged about the cuddly merchandise. \u201cBecause this is considered a toy.\u201d<\/p>\n The man also boasted the puppies were AKC certified \u2013 a designation from the American Kennel Club that recognizes a dog as purebred.<\/p>\n The men popped up on more than one occasion. On Oct. 17, a Post reporter witnessed the men plying their trade at the same spot on West 47th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues around 2 pm.<\/p>\n At least eight puppies are seen in the video in the trunk of the SUV. Facebook\/NYC & LI DOGS THAT NEED RESCUE<\/p>\n \u201cAbsolutely horrible,\u201d raged the anonymous social media poster, who said the puppies looked \u201csick\u201d and that they called police. <\/p>\n The NYPD did not answer The Post\u2019s question about the August incident.<\/p>\n An Instagram video shared the next day<\/a> by the account New Yorkers showed the same puppies in a shopping cart on Canal Street, amid a sea of knock-off<\/a> Saint-Laurent and Goyard wallets.<\/p>\n \u201cYo, Canal\u2019s anything,\u201d a man is heard saying in the video. \u201cBuddy got dogs for sale. You heard on Canal Street. Buddy got dogs on Canal Street for sale.
