The headline was published last October, but went truly viral Wednesday after Victor Shi, a spokesperson for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass<\/a>, shared a photo of the cover on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was published one year ago,\u201d Shi wrote Wednesday<\/a>. \u201cEverything is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of Friday, his post had garnered 87,000 likes and 1.5 million views.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we are only 10 months into this administration,\u201d Shi wrote in a separate post<\/a>. \u201cThey move fast. They break things. They have no regard for history or norms or laws. They want us to feel overwhelmed and weak, but we can\u2019t submit. We can\u2019t give up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Times warned only about threats Trump<\/a> had publicly made<\/a> himself, and they\u2019ve all come true since he took office for a second time.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s built medieval detention centers<\/a>, used masked immigration agents to snatch people off the street<\/a> and defied federal judges<\/a> by deporting migrants to prisons in South America \u2014 all while\u00a0deploying troops<\/a> to quell purported \u201cbedlam\u201d<\/a> in major U.S. cities<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has also managed to jeopardize longstanding relationships with allied countries around the world, as the paper forewarned. His announcement of steep international tariffs<\/a> in April sent markets into major upheaval<\/a>, threatening a global recession<\/a> \u2014 or worse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Times had further alluded to potential political arrests during Trump\u2019s second term.
