The Gap and Brooklyn Circus have announced the launch of two limited-edition Summer 2026 collections. The capsules feature football-inspired pieces created in collaboration with Ouigi Theodore, founder of The Brooklyn Circus, longtime cultural tastemaker, and one of New York\u2019s most influential voices in fashion and storytelling. To celebrate the launch and the global football moment this summer, Gap and Ouigi Theodore will host a community event in New York City this June, bringing together football, fashion, music, and culture through the lens of the global village.<\/p>\n
The collections celebrate football not simply as a sport, but as a global language of identity, heritage, and community. Launching ahead of this summer\u2019s biggest football stage, the OuiGap collection serves as the centerpiece of the collaboration: an elevated assortment of football-inspired apparel and accessories designed through Ouigi Theodore\u2019s distinct cultural lens to honor those who came before him.<\/p>\n
Born in Haiti in 1974, the same year Haiti\u2019s national football team made history on the world stage, Theodore brings a personal connection to the story that goes beyond inspiration. After moving to the U.S. and growing up between Haitian heritage and New York City style, football remained a powerful thread in his childhood, identity, and creative imagination. In 2024, he earned MR\u2019s Retail Brand of the Year Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n Founder and Creative Director of Brooklyn Circus, Ouigi Theodore, told MR about the collab, \u201cThe collection is filled with the optimism I\u2019ve always had about Haiti as a Haitian American. So it\u2019s exciting to see how well the collection is being received as well as how optimistic Haitians are about this current World Cup team.\u201d<\/p>\n Through the collection, Theodore pays tribute to Haiti\u2019s historic 1974 World Cup team with thoughtful design details woven throughout the assortment, including the recurring \u201c74\u201d motif featured across jerseys, jackets, knits, and coordinated separates.
