A 98-year-old man was punched, kicked and struck with a broomstick and metal chair inside his apartment building in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, and investigators are now trying to identify the woman they say was responsible.<\/p>\n
The attack happened around 4 p.m. Thursday inside a residential building near Maple Street and Rogers Avenue.<\/p>\n
Video released by investigators shows the woman appearing to drop off flyers at a building. Investigators say she is the person they are trying to identify.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the 98-year-old man had just entered the building when he got into an argument with the woman.<\/p>\n
They say the confrontation quickly turned violent.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the woman repeatedly punched and kicked the man before hitting him with a broomstick and a metal chair.<\/p>\n
She then ran from the building and headed east on Maple Street.<\/p>\n
Despite the violent attack, the man suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.<\/p>\n
The incident comes during a troubling stretch of attacks involving older Brooklyn residents.<\/p>\n
Last week, a 72-year-old man was punched multiple times in the face in Brownsville. Days later, an 83-year-old woman was slashed in the head while walking to church.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been announced in this latest case.<\/p>\n
