On a cloud-free and warm, sunny Thursday afternoon, hundreds of Rockefeller Center visitors lined up to see some of their favorite songs performed live at The Rink. Last week<\/a>, visitors were treated to performances from Maybe Happy Ending, The Great Gatsby, and Operation Mincemeat. Here is a look at what happened on June 4 during Road to Broadway\u2019s Act III presented in partnership with Playbill.<\/p>\n

Pamela Adlon and Eric McCormack of Celebrity Autobiography<\/a> served as hosts for the day. The duo warmed up the audience with some cute banter about McCormack\u2019s previous Broadway roles and how Adlon is making her debut in Celebrity Autobiography. They then introduced the stellar lineup for the afternoon\u2019s festivities.\u00a0See photos from the event below and scroll down for videos of the performances. \"Rockefeller<\/p>\n

The afternoon concert opened with MJ The Musical<\/a>, led by\u00a0the current MJ, Matte Martinez. He was joined by Christopher Sean Cooper, Sasha Allen, John Edwards, Brett Gray, Nyla Sostre, Apollo Levine, and Sheldon Henry. They treated guests to familiar favorites\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ll Be There\u201d and \u201cMan in the Mirror.”<\/p>\n

The cast of\u00a0The Book of Mormon<\/a>, currently celebrating its 15th anniversary,\u00a0was up next.\u00a0Tony Moreno, Jack Baugh, and Kristen Jeter delighted audiences with\u00a0\u201cYou and Me (But Mostly Me)\u201d and \u201cBaptize Me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Outsiders<\/a> performed next, with\u00a0Noah Pacht, Caleb Mathura, Dan Berry, and Sutton James Kaylor singing \u201cFar Away From Tulsa\u201d and \u201cThrowing in the Towel.”<\/p>\n

Closing out the concert was\u00a0Moulin Rouge! The Musical<\/a>. The show’s Satine and Christian, Kelsie Watts and Christian Douglas\u2014along with ensemble cast Sarah Bowden, Rayven Bailey, Donnie Hammond, and Jeigh Madjus\u2014performed a trio of song: “Lady M,”\u00a0\u201cCome What May,\u201d and \u201cFirework.”<\/p>\n

The Road to Broadway concludes next week with performances from the following shows.<\/p>\n

June 11: The Finale<\/p>\n

Playbill has teamed up with Rockefeller Center to present a month-long concert series titled Road to Broadway. The noon concert will feature free Broadway performances at The Rink at Rockefeller Center, transforming the space into an open-air stage. Featuring live performances from some of Broadway\u2019s biggest shows, each week will offer a distinct theme and exciting lineup.<\/p>\n

All performances take place between 12PM and 1PM\u2014be sure to arrive early and get the best spot for seeing all your favorite shows! Please note that all performances are subject to change.\u2028\u2028<\/p>\n

For a front-row view, reserve terrace seating at Jupiter<\/a> or NARO<\/a>, or grab takeout from Under 30 Rock<\/a> favorites like Lobel\u2019s<\/a>, Ace\u2019s Pizza<\/a>, or Shake Shack<\/a>. Guests shopping or dining at Rockefeller Center can use their receipt to access a standing view from The Rink balconies.<\/p>\n

Rockefeller Center is located just steps from New York City\u2019s Theater District, making it a convenient stop before or after a Broadway show. Whether audiences are arriving early for dinner at one of the Center\u2019s restaurants<\/a>, enjoying a pre-show view of the city\u2019s iconic skyline at Top of the Rock Observation Deck<\/a>, or celebrating after the final curtain, Rock Center is an extension any visitor\u2019s Broadway experience.<\/p>\n
