The vehicle then struck a utility pole, breaking it in half, before rolling over multiple times.

National Grid was called to the scene after utility wires were brought down by the crash.

Following an investigation, deputies determined Shephard was operating the vehicle at an imprudent speed and was using a mobile device at the time of the crash. He was issued citations for both offenses.

Shephard was transported to Rochester by ambulance with minor injuries for evaluation.

He is scheduled to appear in West Bloomfield Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Ricci’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene. Assisting agencies included Honeoye Falls Ambulance, the Ionia Fire Department, West Bloomfield Fire Department, and East Bloomfield Fire Department.

                  Stay Informed:
Finger Lakes news, delivered to your inbox every morning.

Our records show you’re subscribed.

Not the case?
