\u201cUpon arrival, officers observed an unidentified adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest and a gunshot wound to the groin,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cEMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said there are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

Norwood News visited the location of the murder later on Thursday afternoon and it was not immediately obvious where 2051 Grand Concourse was located as the street numbers listed for the stores at street level were not in order, and none listed 2051.<\/p>\n
However, according to NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) records, 2051-2055 Grand Concourse is the multi-story building seen in the attached photo above and below and is located on the same tax lot and block. Another address listed on the same tax lot and tax block is 169-185 East Burnside Avenue.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n We asked several people, including local employees, in the neighborhood if they knew what happened. One male street vendor told us he believed the incident happened further south along the Grand Concourse at Burnside Avenue. Others we spoke to said they had no information on what happened. We will share any updates we receive.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n On Friday, June 5, police identified the deceased as Amaury Toro, a 43-year-old male with an address at a residential building on East 201st Street in Bedford Park. Norwood News visited the victim\u2019s home on Friday to ask a potential family member or neighbor if they wished to comment. However, when contacted, Norwood News was informed by the management company of the relevant Bedford Park building that the victim did not live there.<\/p>\n We double-checked the provided address with the NYPD and were referred to the original police report and address for the victim.
