A woman was fatally shot inside the Harborview Terrace public housing complex early Sunday morning, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded around 12:45am to the NYCHA development on W55th Street near 10th Avenue, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. Medics took her to Mount Sinai West, where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Detectives are working to determine her identity and confirm her age. \u201cThere\u2019s no arrest and the investigation is ongoing,\u201d an NYPD spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Residents reported a significant police presence around the Hell\u2019s Kitchen complex for several hours after the shooting.<\/p>\n
