(WRGB) \u2014 Federal prosecutors say a Brooklyn man is accused of pocketing more than $573,000 in checks from an assisted living facility in Mohawk, N.Y., in Herkimer County.<\/p>\n<p>They say Ezriel Green, 41, managed finances at the home from October 2024 to April 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cbs6albany.com\/news\/local\/investigators-stop-saratoga-county-senior-from-losing-20000-in-paypal-style-scam-moreau-scammed-crypto-bank-teller-stolen-scam-funds-massachusetts-20000-sheriffs-office-cash-moreau-elderly-woman-welfare-check-cellphone-account-purchase-email-cbs6-wrgb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MORE: Investigators stop Saratoga County senior from giving $20,000 in cash to scammers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Investigators say he took checks from the U.S. Treasury and New York Medicaid and used the money for his own benefit instead of resident care.<\/p>\n<p>Green appeared in federal court on June 2.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to five years of supervised release.<\/p>\n<p>He also may have to pay restitution.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cbs6albany.com\/news\/local\/rotterdam-woman-convicted-in-28-thousand-dollar-snap-heap-benefits-fraud-case-sonia-rajpaul-rotterdam-schenectady-county-wrgb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MORE: Rotterdam woman convicted in $28K SNAP, HEAP benefits fraud case<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ALBANY, N.Y.
