Residents near a street where an 11-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver<\/a> said they want the heartless motorist captured and put in jail.<\/p>\n

Cops have yet to catch up with the driver of a black Acura that struck a boy on a stand-up electric scooter Monday afternoon in Gravesend<\/a> and kept going, officials said.<\/p>\n

The crash also injured a 25-year-old man who was struck by debris from the collision, police said. The boy remained in critical condition<\/a> on Tuesday, officials said. The man was released from the hospital where he was taken, a relative said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that they catch this guy,\u201d said an outraged neighbor, who has lived near the crash site for 30 years. \u201cAnd we\u2019re all praying for this little boy that he\u2019s going to get better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cops said the boy was near Avenue V and Ocean Parkway just before 6 p.m. Monday when he was mowed down by a sedan traveling north on the parkway approaching the intersection at Avenue V.<\/p>\n

EMS transported both victims to Maimonides Medical Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s out of the hospital, thank God,\u201d the older victim\u2019s mother told the Daily News on Tuesday. \u201cBut his leg is really bad. It\u2019s banged up bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police found the damaged car four blocks away on Ocean Parkway and Avenue R.<\/p>\n

The Acura\u2019s windshield was shattered and the front of its hood on the passenger side was damaged.<\/p>\n

There have been no arrests.<\/p>\n

Another neighbor said he heard the collision.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he hit him there was a noise,\u201d he said. \u201cThe boy was facedown in the street. All the cars stopped and blocked the traffic. They stood around him maybe five minutes. They didn\u2019t touch him. The ambulance came fast.\u201d<\/p>\n
