The victim, who the court did not name, described how her friends now squeeze her hand whenever a\u00a0stranger approaches\u00a0and they walk \u201con eggshells while silently worrying if I\u2019m OK.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her long-held dreams of attending medical school \u2014 which she was supposed to begin this fall \u2014 were derailed following the sexual assault last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cInstead, that dream has flipped upside down. I can\u2019t live ten hours away or alone right now, not after what you did,\u201d she told the perv.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBut my dream still lives, and I will become someone who heals others \u2014 the antithesis of what you have chosen to be in this life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ellow Williams was out on parole for robbery when he attacked the stranger in Soho. <\/p>\n
Williams, who pleaded guilty to first-degree rape charges for the attack and has been arrested at least 30 times, was out on parole for a robbery when he pounced on the unsuspecting woman.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t scream or I\u2019ll kill you, I have a gun,\u201d he seethed, sources told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While he previously denied the allegations, he told Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Sara Litman he was guilty of the charges.<\/p>\n
Despite Williams\u2019 repulsive actions, the victim said she has no hatred for him, and instead offered up her wish for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope that maybe one day, when you are free again, you will have enough humanity to stop yourself from inflicting this pain on anyone else because what you did does not just wound a person, it shatters the people around them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Litman told the\u00a0victim she was \u201cincredibly brave and inspiring\u201d moments before sentencing Williams to 18 years in prison.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will say that I hope medical school is still in your future because we all need doctors who have the kind of compassion and intelligence and strength that you just showed in the courtroom,\u201d she told the woman as she sat with tears in her eyes, surrounded by loved ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg echoed those sentiments.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope the survivor continues to heal from this horrifying attack,\u201d he said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
