Broadway’s newly minted Tony-winning revival of\u00a0Ragtime<\/a> has unveiled a “final” extension. The Lincoln Center Theater<\/a> production will now play its final performance at the Vivian Beaumont Theater August 16.<\/p>\n

The production\u00a0was crowned the season’s Best Revival of a Musical at the 2026 Tony Awards June 7 at Radio City Music Hall. The win was one of four total Tonys the production picked up, also nabbing wins for Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical (Joshua Henry<\/a> and Caissie Levy<\/a>) and Sound Design (Kai Harada<\/a>). Those four total wins tied it with\u00a0The Lost Boys<\/a> and\u00a0Schmigadoon!<\/a> as the most Tony-winning musicals of the season.<\/p>\n

Some casting changes will accompany these newly added performances. Ben Levi Ross<\/a> will play his final performance as Mother’s Younger Brother July 12, and will be succeeded by Jake Pedersen<\/a> (Parade<\/a>)\u00a0July 14-26, and by Nicholas Barr\u00f3n July 28-August 16.<\/p>\n

Playing their final performances June 14 will be Colin Donnell<\/a> as Father, Anna Grace Barlow<\/a> as Evelyn Nesbit, and Nick Barrington<\/a> as The Little Boy. Ben Davis<\/a> will play Father June 16-July 19 and August 4-16, and Matthew Scott<\/a> will take over the role July 21-August 2. Barlow will be succeeded by Morgan Marcell June 16-July 16, with Marina Kondo<\/a> playing the role July 17-August 16. Understudy Jackson Parker Gill will assume the role of The Little Boy full-time beginning June 16, with Greyson Chapman joining as the role’s new understudy.<\/p>\n

Shaina Taub<\/a> and Ellie May Sennett<\/a> will play their final performances as,\u00a0respectively, Emma Goldman and The Little Girl August 2. Julie Benko<\/a> will return to again succeed Taub August 4-16, and Tabitha Lawing<\/a> will return to again play The Little Girl alongside current understudy Aerina DeBoer August 4-16.<\/p>\n

Based on a novel by E.L. Doctorow<\/a>, Ragtime blends fact and fiction telling the story of New York City at the dawn of the 20th century, with a book by Terrence McNally<\/a>, music by Stephen Flaherty<\/a>, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens<\/a>. The story focuses on Coalhouse Walker, Jr., a Black man who buys a Model T Ford and sets off a chain of events that encompass all levels of New York City society, along with magician Harry Houdini<\/a>, industrialist Henry Ford, celebrity party girl Evelyn Nesbit, civil rights leader Booker T. Washington, architect Stanford White, anarchist Emma Goldman, a Jewish Latvian immigrant who becomes a movie director, and an upper class white family living in suburban New Rochelle.<\/p>\n

Henry, Levy, and Brandon Uranowitz<\/a> lead the cast as Coalhouse Walker, Jr., Mother, and Tateh, respectively, with\u00a0Donnell (Anything Goes<\/a>) as Father, Nichelle Lewis<\/a> (The Wiz<\/a>) as Sarah, Ross (Dear Evan Hansen<\/a>) as Mother’s Younger Brother, Taub as Emma Goldman, John Clay III<\/a> (New York, New York<\/a>) as Booker T. Washington, and Rodd Cyrus<\/a> (The Light in the Piazza<\/a>) as Harry Houdini. All are reprising their performances from the production’s New York City Center<\/a> run.<\/p>\n

The Broadway cast also features Barlow as Evelyn Nesbit, Barrington as The Little Boy, and Sennett as The Little Girl. They are currently joined by Barr\u00f3n, Lauren Blackman<\/a>, Allison Blackwell<\/a>, Briana Carlson-Goodman<\/a>, Jordan Chin<\/a>, Eean Sherrod Cochran<\/a>, Billy Cohen<\/a>, Kerry Conte<\/a>, Rheaume Crenshaw<\/a>, Ellie Fishman<\/a>, Jason Forbach<\/a>, Nick Gaswirth<\/a>, Ta\u2019Nika Gibson, Gill, David Jennings<\/a>,ma Kondo, Marcell, Kane Emmanuel Miller<\/a>, Jenny Mollet<\/a>, Tom Nelis<\/a>, Kent Overshown<\/a>, Kayla Pecchioni<\/a>, Pedersen, John Rapson<\/a>, Scott, Deandre Sevon<\/a>, Keenan D. Washington<\/a>, Jacob Keith Watson<\/a>, Alan Wiggins<\/a>, and Keenan Williams. Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>‘s Craig Burns.<\/p>\n

The production also features choreography by Ellenore Scott<\/a>, set design by David Korins<\/a>, costume design by Linda Cho<\/a>, lighting design by Adam Honore\u0301 and Donald Holder<\/a>, sound design by Kai Harada, projection design by 59 Studio, and hair and wig design by Tom Watson<\/a>. Music director James Moore<\/a> is conducting a 28-piece orchestra playing the original orchestrations by William David Brohn<\/a>, and vocal arrangements by Flaherty. Ann James is sensitivity specialist, and Tim Semon serves as production stage manager.<\/p>\n

The musical premiered on Broadway in 1998 following a pre-Broadway bow in Toronto, with an original cast that boasted Brian Stokes Mitchell<\/a>, Audra McDonald<\/a>, and Marin Mazzie<\/a>. McDonald won the second of her six career Tony Awards for her featured performance as Sarah.
