6\/9; 11:48 a.m.\u2014A body was found near Lock 22 on Wood Creek Road in the Town of Verona, according to New York State Police.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Law enforcement responded to the end of Wood Creek Rd. at about 2 p.m. on June 7, after a caller discovered an unidentified deceased person.<\/p>\n

“Investigators believe the deceased may be connected to a missing person case reported to the Rome Police Department on May 24, 2026,” according to NYSP.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office is working to confirm the identity of the deceased.<\/p>\n

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death.<\/p>\n

Police believe this is an isolated case and there is no known threat to the public.<\/p>\n

DURHAMVILLE, N.Y. — A large police presence has been seen near Lock 22 in Durhamville.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement has been at the scene since at least 6:45 a.m., and a tent has been set up.<\/p>\n

No information has been released yet, but officials said more details may be shared as early as this afternoon.<\/p>\n
