Full casting has been found for the upcoming Free\u00a0Shakespeare in the Park staging of the Bard’s\u00a0The Winter’s Tale<\/a>, set to play Central Park’s Delacorte Theater July 25-August 22, officially opening August 11. Daniel Sullivan<\/a> will be at the helm, with Mimi Lieber<\/a> choreographing.<\/p>\n

The cast will be led by\u00a0Ra\u00fal Esparza<\/a> (of the upcoming\u00a0Galileo<\/a>)\u00a0as Leontes and Lily Rabe<\/a> (of the upcoming\u00a0Other Desert Cities<\/a>)\u00a0as Hermione. Other cast members include\u00a0Chuck Cooper<\/a> as Old Shepherd,\u00a0Teagle F. Bougere<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0Camillo, Matthew Eby\u00a0as\u00a0Mamillius and\u00a0Time, Isabela Ferrer\u00a0as\u00a0Perdita, Katie Griffith<\/a> as\u00a0Mopsa, Alex Hernandez\u00a0as\u00a0Cleomenes, Michael Khalid Karadsheh\u00a0as\u00a0Young Shepherd, Daniel Kyri\u00a0as\u00a0Florizel, Aubie Merrylees<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0Archidamus, Jennifer Mogbock as\u00a0Emilia, Gilbert Owuor\u00a0as\u00a0Polixenes, Matthew Russell\u00a0as\u00a0Dion, and\u00a0Steven Skybell<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0Antigonus and\u00a0Autolycus. Completing the company will be ensemblists \u00a0Heschel Bay, Denise Kolodja, Violeta Picayo, Bianca Rogoff, Michael Thanh Tran, and Jackson Whitman; and musician\u00a0Peter Douskalis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The outdoor production will feature scenic design by Maruti Evans<\/a>, costume design by Linda Cho<\/a>, sound design by Brian Ronan<\/a>, music by Tom Kitt<\/a>, hair and wig design by Tom Watson<\/a>, sound system design by Mike Tracey<\/a>, puppet design by James Ortiz, and prop management by Rachel Kenner. Caroline Englander will serve as production stage manager, with Jessie Moore<\/a> and Luisa S\u00e1nchez Col\u00f3n<\/a> as stage managers. Lieber also serves as associate director.<\/p>\n

As always, tickets to The Winter’s Tale and the entirety of the Free Shakespeare in the Park season are available for free. Tickets are distributed on the day of each performance in-person at the Delacorte, and at borough distribution sites, including many dates at branches of Citizens Bank. Producing company The Public Theater\u00a0also offers an in-person lottery at the theatre’s East Village venue, and a digital lottery via the TodayTix smartphone app. A limited number of advance tickets are available by making a donation to the company’s Free Shakespeare in the Park series.<\/p>\n

The Delacorte’s free Shakespeare in the Park season includes Winter’s Tale and Romeo and Juliet<\/a>, which is now running (see photos below).<\/p>\n
