He was taken to St Joseph&#8217;s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">In a statement to the school community, Yonkers Public Schools Superintendent Anibal Soler Jr. says &#8220;as police investigate the nature of the medical emergency, we remain focused on caring for his classmates, teachers and staff who are in terrible pain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The district will provide grief counselors to help students during this time.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The child identity has not bee released. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A 12-year-old boy choked to death at a Yonkers school Wednesday morning.
