\nBaker Tilly moving headquarters from Chicago to New York
\nRussell Shinsky<\/a> to serve as Baker Tilly\u2019s NY managing principal, post acquistion<\/p>\n

Baker Tilly, the advisory, tax and assurance firm, has agreed to acquire Anchin, Block & Anchin, an accounting, tax and advisory<\/a> firm, serving privately held businesses, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals and families.\n<\/p>\n

Both firms serve middle-market clients and have offices in Uniondale<\/a> and other locations. The deal is expected to close this summer.<\/p>\n

With the acquisition<\/a>, Baker Tilly will move its headquarters from Chicago to New York City<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cNew York is one of the most important markets for our clients and for the future of our firm,\u201d Eric Miles<\/a>, CEO of Baker Tilly, said in a news release about the agreement.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cAnchin strengthens our presence in a market that is central to many of the industries, entrepreneurs and businesses we serve,\u201d Miles added. \u201cEstablishing New York as our headquarters reflects our long-term commitment to this market and our continued investment in the talent, expertise and capabilities our clients need to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baker Tilly, whose U.S. roots date back to 1931, has offices across the United States and internationally, including in New York, Chicago, London, Sydney and Singapore.\n<\/p>\n

Founded in 1923, Anchin provides expertise in private client, real estate, financial services, consumer products, professional services, and architecture, engineering and construction. It also has offices in South Florida.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last several years, we had many conversations with firms and investors exploring different paths forward for Anchin,\u201d Russell Shinsky, managing partner of Anchin, said in the news release.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were fortunate to be in a position of strength and could be selective about what would best serve our clients and our people for the long term,\u201d Shinsky said.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBaker Tilly stood out because of its commitment to the middle market<\/a>, its investment in innovation and talent, and the respect it showed for the culture, leadership and reputation we have built over the last 103 years,\u201d Shinsky added. \u201cWe believe this combination allows us to build on what has made Anchin successful while creating new opportunities for our clients and team members.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat impressed us most about Anchin was not only the strength of its client relationships and industry expertise, but also the quality of its leadership and culture,\u201d Fred Massanova<\/a>, North America managing principal and chief operating officer of Baker Tilly, said in the news release.\n<\/p>\n

After the deal closes, Shinsky will serve as Baker Tilly\u2019s New York managing principal and lead its growth in the market.\n<\/p>\n
