Brooklyn Beckham<\/a> reportedly plans to skip David Beckham\u2019s<\/a> Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and insiders are revealing whether his wife, Nicola Peltz<\/a>, played a role in the decision.<\/p>\n

According to a new source on Page Six<\/a>, the former British soccer legend is gearing up for a major career milestone as he\u2019s about to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And while his wife and pal Tom Cruise<\/a> have confirmed their attendance, Brooklyn, who reportedly lives just 20 minutes away, will be noticeably absent.<\/p>\n

Per the source, the decision to snub the ceremony comes mostly from Brooklyn, but his wife Peltz is vehemently opposed to him going too.\u00a0\u201cEven if he did want to see them at the Walk of Fame, Nicola would not take too kindly to it,\u201d the source said. \u201cTwo things can be true: Nicola can be difficult, and Brooklyn does not want to see his parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January of this year, David and Victoria Beckham<\/a>\u2019s eldest son took to Instagram and confirmed the family feud<\/a> that was long rumored to be going on between them. The statement was harsh, and while it confirmed some of the biggest stories surrounding their rift, it perhaps created a divide that became officially too big to repair.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Brooklyn\u2019s statement back in January included numerous accusations against his parents, including a claim that they\u2019ve been \u201ctrying endlessly to ruin\u201d his relationship with Nicola for years. He also accused his parents of pressuring him into signing away the rights to his name before their wedding in 2022. \u201cThey have never treated me the same since,\u201d he said of his refusal.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn added that on his wedding day, when he was supposed to dance his first dance with Nicola, Victoria hijacked the moment. \u201cShe danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for his decision to skip his dad\u2019s milestone 50th birthday, Brooklyn said that he and Nicola flew to London and repeatedly tried to meet with his father. \u201cHe refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn\u2019t invited,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,\u201d Brooklyn said at the end of his statement. \u201cI have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Brooklyn\u2019s statement, the former Spice Girl has denied the claims that she and her husband have been controlling of their kids. In addition to Brooklyn, they\u2019re also parents to Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14.<\/p>\n

In a May 27 interview with The Times<\/a>, for instance, the fashion designer revealed that she is nothing but supportive of her kids. \u201cThere\u2019s a big difference between supporting children with what they want to do and forcing them,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cAll we\u2019ve ever done with any of the children is support them, help them and encourage them.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then praised her kids\u2019 \u201cpassion and their sense of purpose,\u201d and went on to say that she and David want them to do whatever they want in life. \u201cThe three boys used to play football, and one by one they decided it wasn\u2019t for them, and that\u2019s okay, whatever makes them happy,\u201d she said. \u201cI just want them to feel fulfilled.\u201d<\/p>\n
