McKINNEY, Texas \u2014 Karmelo Anthony\u2019s grandmother was filmed shouting \u201cRacist!\u201d as she left a Texas courthouse in an Acura sedan \u2014 hours after her 19-year-old grandson was convicted of murdering fellow teen Austin Metcalf<\/a> and sentenced to 35 years in prison.<\/p>\n

\u201cRacist! Bias!\u201d Toni Hayes yells through the passenger side window of a black car on Tuesday amid the throngs of protesters outside the court in McKinney, Texas, in the Dallas suburbs.<\/p>\n

The chant appeared to start among the crowd of mostly black supporters who gathered ahead of Tuesday\u2019s verdict in the murder trial<\/a> \u2014 which saw Anthony\u2019s family quickly claim he was the victim of racism.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love Karmelo! We love him!\u201d one supporter yells at Hayes after the teen was sentenced to 35 years for the fatal stabbing at a Frisco high school track meet.<\/p>\n

Hayes is also heard saying, \u201cSend that message that they can do whatever,\u201d before making a heart gesture at her killer grandson\u2019s supporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep your head up!\u201d another supporter yells, as others shout, \u201cPower to the people!\u201d and \u201cFree Karmelo!\u201d<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a jury found Anthony guilty of murdering Metcalf<\/a> in April last year in what he claimed was an act of self-defense.<\/p>\n
