Mere hours after he reveled in his Knicks<\/a> pulling off the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani<\/a> has secured another major sports-related W. Just in time for the FIFA World Cup<\/a>, which kicks off this Friday across the US, Canada, and Mexico, the mayor\u2019s office is dropping a trio of affordable NYC-inspired soccer jerseys.<\/p>\n

The jerseys were designed and crafted in partnership with Mazzi Sports, a family-owned apparel studio in Brooklyn, and feature the same retro graphic style as the city\u2019s charming World Cup campaign<\/a>: There\u2019s a soccer-ball-ified Big Apple logo over the heart and a little pigeon sitting opposite it, with \u201cNEW YORK CITY\u201d emblazoned across the chest and \u201c26\u201d on the back. There are also three bold color combos to choose from: a classic black and white; a taxi-esque yellow and black; and a blue and orange-y red that can work for cheering on the Knicks<\/a>, the Mets, or the USMNT<\/a>, depending on the day.<\/p>\n

The limited run of 1,500\u2014500 of each colorway\u2014was entirely produced by hand at Mazzi\u2019s Bedford-Stuyvesant factory. The shirts will be sold at cost for roughly $50 (about a third of the price of an authentic World Cup kit<\/a> from the likes of Adidas or Nike), and will be available in-person only starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 12, at the NYC City Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n
