The Public’s Public Forum series will re-launch at Central Park’s\u00a0Delacorte Theater June 15 at 8\u00a0PM with\u00a0Quick, Bright,\u00a0Things Come to Confusion, or What We Do For Love,\u00a0an event offering a star-studded\u00a0free performance of\u00a0A Midsummer Night’s Dream plus a talkback.<\/p>\n
Frankie J. Alvarez, Grantham Coleman<\/a>, Micaela Diamond<\/a>, J. Harrison Ghee<\/a>, Rebecca Naomi Jones<\/a>, Matty Maggiacomo, and Christian Slater<\/a> will lead Shakespeare’s beloved comedy.<\/p>\n Audiences will also\u00a0hear insights from Kwame Anthony Appiah, the NYU philosopher who writes the weekly Ethicist column in The New York Times Magazine and serves as Public Theater trustee; James Shapiro<\/a>, Public Theater Shakespeare Scholar in Residence since 2012 and Larry Miller Professor of English at Columbia University; Ayanna Thompson, Public Theater Shakespeare Scholar in Residence and Regents Professor of English at Arizona State University; and Logan Ury, Hinge\u2019s Lead Relationship Scientist and author of How to Not Die Alone.\u00a0<\/p>\n Quick, Bright, Things Come to Confusion, or What We Do For Love\u00a0is\u00a0curated by\u00a0Alexa Smith and Jeremy McCarter.<\/p>\n Monday nights at the Delacorte typically serve as the night off\/dark day for the Public’s\u00a0free Shakespeare in the Park series (currently offering\u00a0Romeo and Juliet), but going forward, Mondays will feature the Public Forum series.<\/p>\n Upcoming Public Forum series events include American Sublime\u00a0June 22, which will feature participants James Ijames<\/a>, Niles Luther, and\u00a0Anna Deavere Smith<\/a>;\u00a0Cities Under Siege\u00a0June 29;\u00a0Division and Renewal: An\u00a0Evening with Michael Sandel\u00a0August 10; and Summer Book Club\u00a0Celebration With the New York Public Library\u00a0on August 17.<\/p>\n
