The 30-year-old told News 12 she is trying to make sense of her new reality after the death of her older sister.<\/p>\n
“Now I make sure I’m here for my family because now I’m the only sister,” she said.<\/p>\n
Crowds gathered outside of R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home, some wearing white hoodies with the phrase “we’ll always remember you” in Spanish.<\/p>\n
Others called for justice, chanting, “no justice, no peace.”<\/p>\n
As Rodriguez looked at the people in attendance, she said it was proof of the lives her sister touched.<\/p>\n
“She clearly impacted the whole community. It’s bigger than just her and our family, it’s what she’s contributed and brought to the Bronx,” Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n
