Lori Herbert lives on Ridge Road in Rocky Point and was grateful that she listened to the warnings and stayed indoors as a tree on her property came crashing down onto her car in the driveway.

“I got the text that there was going to be a storm stay away from the windows, and I heard a couple of bolts of lightning and a loud crash and here we are, my car is shot,” Hebert said.

Herbert said some volunteers from her church are coming to cut the tree up and then her car will be towed. She’s one of many people cleaning up from the mess these storms caused Thursday night.
