{"id":265032,"date":"2026-06-12T22:56:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T22:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/265032\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T22:56:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T22:56:09","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-power-restored-after-manhole-fires-knock-out-blocks-of-fulton-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/265032\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Power Restored After Manhole Fires Knock Out Blocks Of Fulton Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Con Ed says power has been restored to a majority of customers along the busy commercial area in Bed-Stuy, after multiple rows of businesses lost power around 6 p.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Con Ed tells News 12 that heat was \u201calmost certainly the cause\u201d of the <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/brooklyn.news12.com\/multiple-manholes-catch-fire-in-bed-stuy-forcing-residents-to-brave-the-heat\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">multiple manhole fires<\/a> that erupted Thursday evening, taking out power and closing stores.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Some stores tried to reopen on Friday morning without power or air conditioning.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;It was pretty dark. You had customers using their iPhone light.
