{"id":265540,"date":"2026-06-13T14:41:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T14:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/265540\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T14:41:46","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T14:41:46","slug":"free-waterfront-movie-nights-return-to-brooklyn-bridge-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/265540\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Waterfront Movie Nights Return to Brooklyn Bridge Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Summer evenings on the Brooklyn waterfront will once again become a gathering place for film lovers, families and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Brooklyn Bridge Park\u2019s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/events\/movies-with-a-view\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Movies With a View <\/a>series returns this summer with nine free outdoor screenings and an additional family movie night in September.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its 26th year, the film series will take place on Thursday evenings throughout July and August at Pier 1\u2019s Harbor View Lawn. The season opens July 2 with <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-july-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hamilton<\/a>, the filmed version of Lin-Manuel Miranda\u2019s Broadway musical.<\/p>\n<p>Other screenings include <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-july-9\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">When Harry Met Sally<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-july-16\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bend It Like Beckham<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-july-23\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Talented Mr. Ripley<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-july-30\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Clueless<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-august-6\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jurassic Park,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-august-13\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Do the Right Thing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-august-20\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bridesmaids<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Movies With A View has grown into a beloved summertime experience for both New Yorkers and visitors, creating a shared sense of community through film against the backdrop of one of the city&#8217;s most iconic outdoor settings,&#8221; said Eric Landau, president of Brooklyn Bridge Park.<\/p>\n<p>The Aug. 27 screening will be selected by <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-august-27\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public vote<\/a>. Viewers can choose between Challengers, The Great Gatsby and Ocean\u2019s Eleven through an online poll hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brooklyn Bridge Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The series will expand beyond its traditional summer schedule with a Sept. 18 family movie night featuring the animated film <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynbridgepark.org\/event\/movies-with-a-view-september-18\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">How to Train Your Dragon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All screenings are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The lawn opens at 6:00pm\u00a0and films begin at sunset. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as Harbor View Lawn offers waterfront views of New York Harbor and lower Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Guests may bring food for picnics or purchase refreshments from Fornino, which will sell popcorn, drinks and alcoholic beverages for adults 21 and older.
