When they arrived, they found the victim, a 52-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-137853885\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-13-at-10.24.08-AM.jpg\" alt=\"scene of Brooklyn shooting\" width=\"1200\" height=\"751\" title=\"Brooklyn shooting: Person of interest questioned after man shot dead outside apartment building 2\"  \/>Police said the homicide happened just before 3:30 p.m. on June 12 outside an apartment building at 261 Lenox Road in Flatbush.Photo via Google Maps<\/p>\n<p>EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital in critical condition; he was later pronounced dead. Police have not yet released his identity, pending family notification.<\/p>\n<p>During the investigation, police took a person of interest into custody at the scene for further questioning. Charges are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.\n<\/p>\n<p>Through June 7, the 67th Precinct <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/assets\/nypd\/downloads\/pdf\/crime_statistics\/cs-en-us-067pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reported just two homicides year-to-date<\/a>, down from six at the same point last year.
