Early voting is underway for New York City’s primary election, giving voters the opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day.<\/p>\n
The eight-day early voting period began Saturday and runs through June 21. Voters across the city, including in The Bronx, can participate at designated early voting locations before Primary Election Day.<\/p>\n
Several races will appear on this year’s ballot, including contests for state comptroller, State Senate and State Assembly seats.<\/p>\n
Because it is a primary election, only voters registered with a political party are eligible to vote in that party’s primary.<\/p>\n
Voters who prefer to cast their ballots from home can request an early mail ballot through the New York City Board of Elections.<\/p>\n
Polling site hours vary throughout the early voting period. Sites close at 5 p.m. Saturday, while many locations will offer extended weekday hours and remain open until 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
There are more than two dozen early voting sites throughout The Bronx. Voters can visit the Board of Elections website<\/a> to find their assigned polling location and review sample ballots before heading to the polls.<\/p>\n
