Jaume Munar and Alexander Blockx confirmed their absence due to physical problems, leaving the event without their ability to surprise anyone, and in the case of the Belgian, raising some concerns regarding his presence at Wimbledon 2026.

There were doubts about the suitability of Alexander Blockx’s ankle to be ready this week after what happened in Paris. An awkward sprain occurred by twisting his ankle on the tarps at the back of the Roland Garros courts, causing him to be unable to compete in the second round and seeing how his schedule could be disrupted. He has not recovered in time and many think that looking ahead to Wimbledon 2026, he might arrive very tight or even be unable to compete.

Regarding Jaume Munar, his case is quite curious and less serious in the medium term. The Spaniard has been forced to withdraw from competing at Queen´s due to a wisdom tooth issue. He was a standout last year, playing a great match against Alcaraz, and is now deprived of competing due to this unforeseen, painful incident that has low impact on his aspirations for Wimbledon. It remains to be seen if he can compete in an event the following week before heading to the British Grand Slam.

Confirmation that Alexander Blockx who withdrew from Roland Garros due to that freak tarp accident in practice has now withdrawn from Queen’s and will be replaced by a Qualifier / Lucky Loser in the Main Draw.

— Tennis Weekly Podcast (@tennisweeklypod) June 13, 2026

Munar has withdrawn from Queen’s with a wisdom tooth issue.

— Tennisform (@Tennisform) June 13, 2026

This news is an automatic translation.
