Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the former majority leader, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, a spokesman said.<\/p>\n
The spokesman, David Popp, said in a statement that Mr. McConnell was admitted on Sunday morning and was \u201creceiving excellent care.\u201d He did not elaborate on Mr. McConnell\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
The hospitalization is the latest in a string of health issues in recent years for Mr. McConnell, 84. He was hospitalized in February<\/a> for a week after experiencing flulike symptoms. In 2023, he suffered a concussion in a serious fall<\/a> and was hospitalized and then transferred to an inpatient physical rehabilitation center.<\/p>\n Even before those hospitalizations, Mr. McConnell, who had polio as a child, had long walked with an uneven gait.
