{"id":267695,"date":"2026-06-15T19:31:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T19:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/267695\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T19:31:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T19:31:10","slug":"news-12-bronx-dozens-indicted-in-fentanyl-trafficking-probe-centered-in-the-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/267695\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | Dozens Indicted In Fentanyl Trafficking Probe Centered In The Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Thirty-two people were charged Monday in five separate indictments tied to what investigators describe as a large-scale narcotics operation flooding<a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/new-plan-aims-to-clean-up-the-hub-as-city-targets-drug-activity-vacant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> the Hub<\/a> area of the South Bronx with fentanyl, heroin and other drugs.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Officials say the year-long investigation uncovered five drug organizations allegedly operating in and around the busy shopping district near East 149th Street, Third Avenue and Melrose Avenue, an area prosecutors say had become an open-air drug market.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Investigators recovered approximately 30 pounds of fentanyl, 12 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, a kilo of cocaine, five firearms and roughly $100,000 in cash during the investigation and execution of 12 search warrants between June 9 and 11.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Officials say at least five overdoses occurred in the area during the investigation.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cThese defendants allegedly operated in the Hub area, where shoppers, businesses and passersby had to endure flagrant drug dealing at all hours of the day,\u201d Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said. \u201cThe residents should not have to live with such diminished quality of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the trafficking rings distributed narcotics throughout the Hub, across New York City and into four different states.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">According to prosecutors, the organizations were referred to as the \u201cGhost,\u201d \u201cPrada,\u201d \u201cTikTok,\u201d \u201cBrook,\u201d and \u201cBugatti\u201d crews. Investigators say dealers used brand names including \u201cBugatti,\u201d \u201cTikTok,\u201d \u201cPrada\u201d and \u201cBad Bunny\u201d to market drugs that prosecutors say were so potent that users would \u201cfall down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Authorities say the operation traced the narcotics trade from street-level dealers up to suppliers allegedly trafficking kilos of fentanyl.
