STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Saturday Night Live<\/a> took a crack at the trio of candidates seeking New York City\u2019s mayorship in the final weekend before Election Day<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Featuring \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d star Miles Teller as Andrew Cuomo, Teller was joined at \u201cthe third, final, and fictional\u201d debate podiums by comedian Shane Gillis\u2019 Curtis Sliwa and comedian Ramy Youssef\u2019s Zohran Mamdani. <\/p>\n

Moderated by Kenan Thompson\u2019s \u201cuncanny<\/a>\u201d interpretation of New York 1 journalist Errol Louis, each actor took their ascribed candidate\u2019s characteristics \u2014 for better or worse \u2014 to the nth degree. <\/p>\n

\u201cTonight, we\u2019re going to hear from two viable candidates and one good old-fashioned New York nut,\u201d said Thompson\u2019s Louis. <\/p>\n

Teller, through a thick New York accent, poked fun at the former governor\u2019s accusations of alleged sexual assault and Italian heritage, saying: \u201cI know this city like the back of a woman\u2019s back. Mamma mia!\u201d <\/p>\n

(Cuomo, in an interview with the Advance\/SILive.com editorial board, told journalists that the sexual assault accusations were \u201cpolitically motivated. There was no truth to it.\u201d<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Youssef\u2019s Mamdani played on the Democratic candidate\u2019s iconic wide smile and perpetually mispronounced name. <\/p>\n

He was referred to, throughout the nine-minute skit<\/a>, by names like \u201cZoltar Rob Zombie\u201d and \u201cNorbert Dim Daniel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gillis as Sliwa played into the social media frenzy about the Republican candidate, portraying him as someone is who seemingly is always caught in the midst of some mob violence or otherwise, and offered outlandish anecdotes throughout the opening. <\/p>\n

This portrayal does have some real roots, however; Sliwa did survive a mob hit in the back of a yellow taxicab in 1992. <\/p>\n

The skit played on some of the questions asked during the real debates, including favorite bagel orders and the reason behind each candidate\u2019s campaign for Gracie Mansion. <\/p>\n

The skit takes a turn, however, when James Austin Johnson \u2014 dressed as President Donald Trump \u2014 comes onto the debate stage after Thompson inquires, \u201cWhat do you think is the biggest problem you have to confront as mayor?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s me!\u201d Johnson crowed. \u201cYes, they can pretend this election is about housing and taxes, but we all know it\u2019s about me, right?\u201d <\/p>\n

The scene eventually comes to a close with Johnson\u2019s Trump crooning a snippet of the Broadway show \u201cPhantom of the Opera,\u201d before the iconic: \u201cLive from New York<\/a>!\u201d <\/p>\n
