There\u2019s an ongoing city budget negotiations between the City Council and the Mamdani administration.<\/p>\n
On the campaign trail last year, then-mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani pledged to fund the city\u2019s parks with 1% of the city\u2019s budget. However, the current amount proposed in ongoing negotiations in the City Council falls far below the mayor\u2019s target.<\/p>\n
Council member Ty Hankerson, who serves as the chair of the council\u2019s Committee on Parks and Recreation, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on \u201cInside City Hall\u201d Monday to discuss more.<\/p>\n
He represents neighborhoods in Queens, including Jamaica, South Richmond Hill, Baisley Park and South Ozone Park.<\/p>\n
