DJ Fat Tony has explained why he decided to speak out on the Beckham-Peltz wedding drama<\/a> \u2013 suggesting the bride and groom asked him to publicly set the record straight. <\/p>\n

The 60-year-old is a longtime pal of the entire Beckham clan and DJed at Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham<\/a>\u2019s lavish Palm Beach wedding in 2022. <\/p>\n

The nuptials took place against a stunning visual backdrop, with the big day being held at the Peltz family\u2019s mammoth Florida estate<\/a>, but long-running rumours of a rift between the happy couple and Brooklyn\u2019s parents threatened to overshadow the wedding. <\/p>\n

After years of denying the fallout, Brooklyn finally confirmed the family feud<\/a> in a six-page Instagram post shared in January this year. <\/p>\n

The eldest of the Beckham children made a number of claims in his explosive update \u2013 notably alleging that his first dance with Nicola was \u201chijacked\u201d by his mother Victoria<\/a>, who \u201cdanced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone\u201d. <\/p>\n

While almost all wedding guests made the (wise) decision not to get involved, Fat Tony\u2019s husband commented in a meme about the dancing with: \u201cIt\u2019s true, I was there.\u201d <\/p>\n

The five-word comment sparked headlines aplenty and the DJ, real name Anthony Marnoch, ended up appearing on This Morning to tell all<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In a new interview with The Telegraph<\/a>, Marnoch has now defended his decision to speak out, explaining: \u201cI wanted to shut down the inappropriate dance thing everyone was making memes about. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was getting to the point where everyone forgot the reality was that some kid\u2019s hurting and a family\u2019s lost their son. I wanted to shut that down and change the narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked whether he spoke to either side before agreeing to appear on the ITV show, Marnoch added that \u201cthere\u2019s\u2026 a WhatsApp group\u201d he has with Brooklyn and Nicola. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just kind of thought, you know what, I\u2019m not going to throw anyone under a bus, I just spoke from the heart,\u201d he said. \u201cI wasn\u2019t there to slag off Victoria and David. I wasn\u2019t spilling the beans. Of course that escalated into a million people turning into lawyers, saying, \u2018You signed an NDA\u2019 or whatever. I didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DJ said on This Morning that \u201cthe whole situation [with the first dance] was really awkward for everyone\u201d. <\/p>\n

He added that Nicola left her own wedding in tears when performer and former Mr JLo Marc Anthony \u2013 the alleged orchestrator of the first dance saga \u2013 called Victoria \u201cthe most beautiful woman in the room\u201d and told Brooklyn to put his hands on his mother\u2019s hips as she danced<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Victoria and David have largely taken a Royal-esque \u201cnever complain, never explain\u201d approach to the family drama, but former Spice Girl Victoria did offer a response<\/a> when asked about the feud in April. <\/p>\n

Seemingly refusing to say Brooklyn\u2019s name<\/a>, she told Fortune 100: \u201cWe love our children so much.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we\u2019ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children.<\/p>\n
