GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Roughly 60,000 people will be taking the New York City streets in November for the New York City Marathon. Eastern North Carolina’s very own Hunter Morris will be one of them, all for a good cause.

Morris is raising money for SkyHope, a nonprofit serving children, veterans, and adults who need transportation to medical appointments located more than two hours from home and are often too far to reach by car.

The organization’s flights help medically complex patients travel safely while reducing financial burdens on families.

Morris joined ENC at Three to share more about her series of fundraisers to help SkyHope and her journey to the Big Apple. For the full interview, see the video link above.

You can find out how to help through her Facebook page, her fundraiser page for SkyHope, or you can drop off shoe donations at 1049 WH Smith Boulevard or The Boulevard Hair Company at 1904 East Fire Tower Road until next Tuesday, June 23rd.

Copyright 2026 WITN.
